During my time at HTL Krems i apparently didn’t have enough to do already, so i set out a new goal for myself.
I wanted to recreate one of the classic Arcade Machines of the 80s/90s era.

Research has begun and thus i landed on the MAME Project.
A Multiple Machine Emulator, which would be able to run various types of ROMs which i obviously bought from someone wearing a long black-leathered coat in a dark allyway.
As i recently had to purchase a new Laptop for school, i had an unused and really shitty Laptop laying around (yes, it was a Medion…). That became the backbone of this Project.

The wooden structure was built around the screen’s mounting position as it determines the minimum width.

From there on it involved a lot of imagination. Trying to invision the overall dimensions and adding that on to the wooden structure.
First addition was a mounting solution for a HMI-Board. Afterwards the top section was built, giving room for speakers.

Now on to the electronics. Mounting the Mainboard & USB-Satellite Board. An Exhaust Fan got mounted on top of the structure.
A Generic pair of speakers got mounted very russian-style, screwing straight into the plastic housing.

The HMI-Board holds two sets of player controls including an eight-way joystick, three push-buttons, and a set of smaller buttons for system-control.

Various side-panels were fabricated & painted in a trying-to-look-cool black & white color scheme.

Don’t ask me about configuration and setup of MAME.
I can’t remember anything and i will not touch this computer within the next 51.5 years.
RTFM
